1. Remote planning
You can discuss goals, travel dates, existing dental work and approximate tooth count remotely. Photos or recent records may help a dentist prepare an initial estimate, but they do not replace an in-person examination.
2. In-person exam and diagnostics
A dentist should check teeth, gums, bite and any issues that might change cosmetic treatment. If the clinical findings differ from the remote estimate, the plan may need to change.
3. Smile design and consent
Ask how shape, shade, length and tooth count are selected. Make sure you understand irreversible steps, including any enamel removal, before treatment starts.
4. Preparation and provisional phase
For porcelain veneers, teeth may be prepared, scanned or impressed, and temporary restorations may be used while final veneers are made. Ask exactly what happens if you dislike the provisional shape or bite.
5. Try-in, bonding and bite check
Before final bonding, ask what can still be changed. After placement, the dentist should check your bite and give you care instructions.
6. Follow-up after travel
Get a written plan for minor adjustments, chips, sensitivity, remake policies and what to do if a local dentist at home identifies a problem.
